A New Line Just for You

one-of-a-kind-pieces

Hello,
Welcome to itsamelanie.com. It’s a great time to be creating one-of-a-kind-pieces just for you. The weather is beautiful and it’s time to get out there and be available to you during the upcoming festivals (check the calendar page for our upcoming events).

Progress has been made on the “special” bead that I am creating for our new line just for you. This bead will be the common factor in the “special line” that I hope to get out there for the summer festivals. This line is going to be available to you as a set, or separately as a necklace, bracelet, anklet, or earrings. Without telling you too much, this line will be classified as exquisitely elegant. It will look great dressed up in a beautiful dress or dressed down in jeans and a tee.

What a process. I designed the bead back in the fall. I spent the winter months finding a specialist in mold making. Patience is not my virtue, but had to wait until May to have my turn with this person. We have a standing date once a week to meet and spend time in creating the mold that I will make the beads out of. The bead will be made from fine silver. It is a very long process that can’t be rushed. It will be worth it in the end. I am so proud of this line. When you wear this set, you will too.

The winter was filled with creating pieces just for you. As you peruse the website and its categories, you will find some very interesting creations. The creations range from flower necklaces that are made from leaf beads that create the flower. These necklaces have an iridescent hue to them which adds luster to the pieces. I have been creating vintage-like pendants that couple as a brooch. It is a decoupage of printed material. When it is dry, I dye it with inks, then add vintage pictures or words and then decorate it with wire and beads. Along with this vintage pendant, I have been creating Memory Pins. These pins are to honor loved ones (including animals). You send me a picture of the loved one, tell me a little bit about them, then I create a special pendant/brooch that you can proudly wear in honor of your loved one. This is a very popular way to display your loved one and they are always near your heart.

Until next time,

Melanie & Tim Kellogg
